Have you received a migration notice or had a change in circumstances and recently claimed Universal Credit? If so, you will need to be aware of the following:

• You will receive your first Universal Credit payment 5 weeks after the date you made your claim.

• This payment will include your housing costs (rent).  You will need to pay the rent to the Council from the money you receive.

• Your payments will be made monthly on the same day each month.

Your Universal Credit claim will not include Council Tax and you will need to make a separate claim for Council Tax Support:
