How to present your waste for collection Toggle accordion
- You must place your containers or bags at the boundary of your property by 6am on your scheduled collection day
- Please make sure your waste containers are clearly visible
- All of your refuse (rubbish or waste for landfill) must be in the brown wheeled bin or purple sacks (up to 3 sacks per collection) as we cannot collect any excess waste
- Please check that you are presenting the correct materials, in the correct containers
Report a missed collection Toggle accordion
A bin is classed as missed if it was available on the boundary at the time the collection took placed and was presented according to our guidelines on “How to present you waste for collection”.
Please be aware Bin collections are not set at a certain times of the day and can be collected any time between 06:00am and 18:00pm on your collection day. Collections can also be delayed or missed for a variety of reasons. You can check for daily issues here: https://www.stalbans.gov.uk/recycling-and-rubbish-service-updates
If you believe your bin(s) were genuinely missed, please inform within 48 hours of your collection day. We can only deal with a missed collection if it is reported within this timescale. Once this time frame has passed you will need to wait for your next scheduled collection
Need help moving your bins to the property boundary? (Assisted Collection) Toggle accordion
If you cannot move your containers to the boundary of your property, because of age or disability, we may be able to provide an assisted collection. Complete the form on-line, download and email it to us.
Apply for an assisted collection
This service is only available to those residents where no member of the household is able to move the bins.
Once your application for an assisted collection has been approved, a waste contract officer will contact you to agree with you where your bins should be placed.
View and Print your collection calendar
Start typing your road name to find out whether you are in collection round 1 or 2, your bin collection day and which calendars you need to print. This will also be included in the Winter edition Community News.
