Planning Policy Committee
The Planning Policy Committee looks at new planning policies including the Local Plan and monitors the work programme (Local Development Scheme).
Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)
An informal six week consultation, ending April 2014, on the Preliminary Draft Charging Schedule. The Council is currently intending to introduce CIL following the new Local Plan.
Brownfield Land Register
The Brownfield Land Register is updated annually.

South West Herts Joint Strategic Plan
Along with Dacorum, Hertsmere Borough Council, Three Rivers District Council and Watford Borough Council, we have begun work on a Joint Strategic Plan (JSP) for the South West Hertfordshire area.

Sandridge Neighbourhood Plan Consultation
The District Council recently invited comments on the submission version of Sandridge Neighbourhood Plan in accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Plan (General) Regulations 2012. This consultation has closed and the plan will be submitted for Examination shortly. Further information can be found through the link below;

The following Neighbourhood Plans have been made:
Harpenden Neighbourhood Plan - Following a ‘YES’ vote at referendum on 7 February 2019, Harpenden Neighbourhood Plan was made at Full Council on 20 February 2019. The Harpenden Neighbourhood Plan now forms part of the Development Plan for St Albans City and District Council.
Hemel Garden Communities
Hemel Garden Communities (HGC) is an ambitious development programme which will transform Hemel Hempstead and create attractive and sustainable new neighbourhoods and communities to the north and east of Hemel Hempstead, through the delivery of more than 11,000 new homes and 10,000 new jobs by 2050.
St Albans Housing Delivery Test Action Plan 2019
This is published in accordance with the National Planning Policy Framework paragraph 75 requirements.
