Work to upgrade Westminster Lodge car park completed

Publication date:

The temporary overflow car park at Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre has been resurfaced by St Albans City and District Council to create 62 permanent spaces.

At a meeting on Tuesday 21 July, Cabinet heard that the work to upgrade the overflow car park was completed on Friday.

Cllr Brian Ellis, Portfolio Holder for Housing at St Albans City and District Council, said: “I am glad to report that the work was finished as planned, in time for the summer holidays. This is when usage of the leisure centre and the adjoining Verulamium Park are at their peak.”

The Council also arranged for land surrounding the St Albans Sea Cadets premises to be resurfaced to provide a new parade ground. The Cadets have obtained external funding for this work and benefit from the Council’s expertise in managing work of this nature.
