Museum wins design award

St Albans Museum + Gallery, along with its design team Studio Sutherland, has been presented with a prestigious Design Week Award.

The teams scooped the top prize for design and branding work used in Wayfinding and Environmental Graphics on site. 

The Design Week Awards celebrates the best work in the field from all design disciplines. Winners in other categories include the BBC, Fortnum & Mason, The Guardian and the Natural History Museum.

St Albans Museum + Gallery opened its doors to the public on Friday 8 June 2018 following a £7.75m two-year restoration project. Since opening, it has welcomed over 330,000 visitors and won 7 awards including 2 RIBA Awards for architecture. It was recently shortlisted for a Museums & Heritage Award and has been featured in this year’s Creative Review Annual.
