Choose your favourite local park to win national award
Vote for your favourite park in St Albans District in a national poll to find the UK’s top 10 best-loved parks.
You can vote for any park that has a Green Flag badge for quality in the People’s Choice Awards 2017.
There are 1,797 Green Flag parks that are eligible. They include Verulamium Park, Rothamsted Park, Clarence Park, Sopwell Nunnery Green Space and Bricket Wood Common; all managed by St Albans City and District Council.
The Green Flag scheme is run by Keep Britain Tidy. Green Flags are a sign that the park or green space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is well maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.
All Green Flag parks and green spaces are listed at www.greenflagaward.org. To vote for your favourite, simply find it on the map and click the vote button. Once you’ve voted, don’t forget to encourage friends, family and colleagues to get involved too.
Voting closes on Saturday 30 September, with the top 10 winning sites being announced on Wednesday 11 October.

Last year saw tens of thousands of people voting for their favourite park, with winners coming from all across the UK, from London to Lanarkshire.

There are plenty of Green Flag parks and spaces in St Albans District to choose from. They include District Council-run Verulamium, Clarence and Rothamsted Parks.”
Earlier this year Green Flags were awarded to six parks and green spaces managed by St Albans City and District Council. They are Verulamium Park, Bricket Wood Common, Clarence Park, Rothamsted Park, Sopwell Nunnery Green Space and Hatfield Road Cemetery.
