St Albans District Community Lottery
Stand by for a great new way of contributing to a good cause, while having the chance to win some money at the same time!
When you buy a ticket for the St Albans District Community Lottery, you'll be helping local organisations to raise money to fund their activities.
Tickets cost £1 with 60p going towards local good causes, compared to just 28p in the pound for the National Lottery.
The draw is weekly with a jackpot of £25,000 for a matching sequence of six numbers. Or you can win £2,000, £250, £25 or three free tickets.
Our launch event on Tuesday 22 February showed local good causes how they could get involved - if you'd like to watch a recording of that event, you can do so here. The slides from the presentation are here.
Good causes that sign up will receive 50p in every pound spent by players. A further 10p in every pound will go into a general good causes fund, with the remainder being put towards prizes, operating costs and VAT.
Players who don’t wish to support a specific cause can still take part in the St Albans District Community Lottery with 60p of their ticket price going into the general Good Causes Fund, which will be distributed by the Council.
For more information about playing the lottery, or participating as one of the good causes that will benefit, go to the lottery web page at https://www.stalbansdistrictlottery.co.uk/
Tickets will go on sale from 22 March, and the first draw will take place at 8pm on Saturday 23 April.
