The GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 are now in force as of 25th May 2018, marking the biggest change to data protection law since the 1998 Act.

The Council has a new Data Protection Policy in place and this can be found below.

What personal information does the Council hold?

The Council collects and holds a wide range of personal information about our tenants, residents and users of our services. This helps us provide services to meet our customers' needs. The Regulation will provide new rights to individuals concerning the use of their personal data.

Under GDPR, the Council must have a named Data Protection Officer who is responsible for data protection matters and available to contact by members of the public.
