Priory Ruins of Lee Hall

The Sopwell Nunnery Green Space is located on a scheduled monument site dating back to the 12th century. The site was called the Nunnery of St Mary.  The land is now owned and managed by St Albans City and District Council.

Sopwell Nunnery Green Space is situated in the Sopwell Ward of St Albans, approximately 10 minutes walk from the City Centre.

With the beautiful walk along the river Ver and the spring and summer flower meadows the site is a perfect spot for a relaxing walk or picnic

Today part of the Sopwell Nunnery Green Space is a scheduled monument, and includes the Nunnery Allotments.
