Christmas Card Recycling 2011

Printer-friendly page

The Council is running a recycling service to help residents dispose of their Christmas cards and Christmas trees in a way that will reduce the amount of festive waste that goes to landfill.

Collection bins for recycling Christmas cards will be available at the various public facilities across the District until the end of January 2012.  The map below show the locations of these facilities.

If you have a real Christmas tree and its small enough, chop it up, and place it in your green bin you just need to make sure the trunk and branches are no wider than a broom handle and remember, the lid of the bin must be closed otherwise your bins may not be collected.

Trees can also be taken to your local Household Waste and Recycling Centre (HWRC) for composting. You can find your nearest HWRC at http://www.wasteaware.org.uk/hwrc.cfm.

Give your local garden centre a call as they may provide a Christmas tree recycling service.
