    Launch of the Sopwell Nunnery Green Space Boardwalk & leaflet
    A new boardwalk was officially opened by the Mayor Cllr Maxine Crawley at the Green Flag* award winning Sopwell Nunnery Green Space on Thursday 24 March. This new wooden structure and all-weather surface will make the path accessible throughout the year. Previously this part of the Ver River Trail through the wet woodland, (a rare habitat in Hertfordshire), was likely to be flooded especially during winter, making it impassable.

    Questions were asked by young, disabled people about the lack of suitable, independent, accommodation for young, physically disabled people in the district. It was evident there was a call for such accommodation and not only was there no provision in the district, but none county-wide.

    Aldwyck Housing Group and partners St Albans City and District Council have been recognised by the Building for Life Awards for their commitment to sustainable communities with the St Pauls scheme in St Albans receiving a Silver Standard.
