It enables assessment for Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance before applying, indicating potential qualification and payment rates. Community Safety

The community safety department, based at the Council offices comprises the community safety and the anti-social behaviour teams.

Many older people choose to join a local Neighbourhood Watch scheme. The scheme aims to help people protect themselves and their property by means of greater vigilance, improved home security and by fostering a community spirit.

In partnership with the Centre for Voluntary Services, we have also produced an A-Z guide to services for older people. This guide has local and national contact information on all services relevant to older people ranging from what to do if you smell gas to who to contact about Rights of Way. A limited number of hard copies is available at Civic Centre offices.
