Alternatively, you can download a direct debit mandate below. The mandate should be completed and returned to the Council Tax Section as soon as possible.

Sort Code: 40:40:01
You will also need to quote your Council Tax account number, which you can find on your most recent bill, or you can retrieve your council tax account number by answering a few questions using in the Find my council tax app in the MyStalbans account.
Pay at the Post Office or Local Paypoint shop Toggle accordion
You can pay your Council Tax by cash or card at the Post Office or any shop displaying the PayPoint sign using the barcode on the front of your bill.
Pay at the Civic Centre Toggle accordion
Unfortunately it is no longer possible to pay your Council Tax using the self-service kiosk at the Council Offices.
You can post a cheque to the Council but there may be a delay in the payment being credited to your account. For this reason we would prefer you chose an alternative payment method. If you have a bank account then direct debit is by far the easiest way to pay your Council Tax. However, if you still wish to pay by cheque they should be made payable to 'St Albans District Council'. Please remember to quote your account number and address if you send a payment by post so we know who the payment is from.
